Cultural and sports recognition in Estepona

Daniel Casares, Coral Magnum Mysterium, Rubén Márquez and the Real Club Náutico de Estepona turned out to be the winners at the Torres Almenara awards, which the 24 Horas Deportivas Foundation handed out at the Social Club at Valle Romano Golf & Resort last Saturday.

At a gala that brought together around two hundred people, this entity gave recognition once again to those individuals and companies that have been the most prominent within the sporting and cultural milieu in Estepona.

Rubén Márquez, the Andalusia champion in different swimming styles, was the winner in the sports category. The Real Club Náutico Estepona won in the sports entity category and the award for the person from Estepona who has best promoted culture went to the guitarist, Dani Casares, who was unable to attend the gala. His brother collected the award on his behalf from Ildefonso Esquivel, manager of Valle Romano Golf. Lastly, the music group Coral Magnum Mysterium won in the category of best cultural entity.

TheTown HallofEsteponawas represented by its mayor, José María García Urbano, the Councillor for Sports, Alfonso Caravaca Mena, and the Councillor for the Socio-Cultural Area, María Luisa Espinosa Martín.

Musical performances by two young promising talents from Estepona – Rafael Gómez and the group Torre Almenara – livened up the event.
