Gabriel Cañizares – champion of the Gecko Pro Tour tournament at Valle Romano

The pro and manager of the Valle Romano Golf Academy, Gabriel Cañizares, has won the Gecko Pro Tour tournament at Valle Romano Golf.

Cañizares had been leading in the tournament over the two days practically since the beginning. He ended the day both yesterday and today with 69 shots, beating the course by 3, which means a -6 overall total during the tournament. He was closely followed by Carlos Rodiles with 69 and 71 shots respectively and a total of -4.  

Cañizares collected his prize from Paul Netherton, the founder of the Gecko Pro tour, alongside Ildefonso Esquivel, the manager of Valle Romano Golf, who was very happy with the outcome precisely because Gabriel has been proclaimed winner of the tournament at Valle Romano Golf.

Gabriel won this pro competition last November which took place at La Calain what was the first Gecko Pro Tour. “Being the first always makes me proud, but this time it is an honour for me to have won on my course – Valle Romano Golf”, Cañizares stated just minutes after hitting the final ball that would confirm him as tournament champion.
